It's my party but you get the gifts—A shot of fearless culture #424
Your weekly dose of culture insights and exercises, one topic at a time.
Launching a book is a lot like throwing a birthday party.
People show up for you, but the point is to celebrate together.
That’s the approach I took for my book launch: throw a party worth joining. Not by making it about me, but by sharing gifts with you. Resources, tools, and ideas you can start applying right away.
The truth is, I didn’t write Forward Talk to feel good about myself.
I wrote it to pay a debt.
I’ve watched colleagues go quiet after their ideas were killed. I’ve been in rooms where the wrong decision won because no one pushed back. And yes, sometimes I was the one who didn’t listen.
Every team I worked with taught me something. This book is me giving that back.
So this issue is all about Forward Talk. Not just because I’m super proud and excited (I am), but because I want you to start changing your conversations. And I’m sharing resources you can use right now.
What’s the conversation you’ve been avoiding — with your team, your clients, or someone close to you?
Time to use some Forward Talk.
