While we are all recovering from last night’s shock, I want to invite you to rethink what happened. You didn’t lose the election. Hillary did. Her political party did. Let’s reframe the situation: that the candidate you voted for didn’t win, doesn’t mean you lost. Don’t feel defeated.

Don’t let the media (both the news and social media) manipulate your emotions. Don’t let them feed your fear. It’s not the end of the world. A problem is not a problem until it shows up. Don’t worry about future tensions.

I see people all over Facebook feeling devastated. And I share their pain and the uncertainty. What worries me is that many seem to be giving up. They are hopeless, thinking about leaving, that the apocalypse is about to happen. Please don’t. Trump might have won the election but don’t let him win over your mind and your dreams.
