Turn your 1:1 into a walk-and-talk.
This week, switch things up by changing the setting — try a walking one-on-one, even if it’s virtual. Invite one team member to join you for a walk in the part, or, if remote, encourage them to step outside or find an open space nearby.
Behavioral research shows that open spaces can ease tension, helping people relax and become more receptive to new perspectives. Leaving the desk behind makes it easier to have more intimate conversations.
